Eklectica is a family business where the main idea is to help people turn normal and bland spaces into something exciting with character.
We sell a large range of handmade furniture, house hold items, lighting and gifts. We also run a side business promoting contemporary art, holding regular shows in our premises.
Our markets are both the general public and trade. We offer free interior and art consultations to all our clients who purchase from us.
Gio & Camila Hayter
The business was founded by husband and wife.
Gio Hayter is a fine artist, studied in Portugal and the UK, achieving a Bachelor of honours in fine art painting at Brighton University.
Camila Hayter is an interior designer who studied in New York and Sao Paulo Brazil, achieving a diploma in Interior design at Pan-American university of Art and design. This has been followed by years of experience as a project designer and manager in a well known interior designer and furniture company in her home country Brazil.
Vision
Gio and Camila share a vision and combine their skills, and professional backgrounds working together towards finding Eklectica's unique range of products, always assuring high quality standards, stylishness, uniqueness and good taste.
We aim to reduce the gap between the functional and artistic, joining art with living, guaranteeing an imaginative edge in everything we offer.
We travel the world to find the most unusual items, working together with skilled artisans that combine ancient techniques of production, with modern designs and sustainable natural resources.
It is this joint effort from a fine artist, interior designer, and crafts people from around the globe that allow our range of products to be current and exclusive as well as having a cultural history behind each piece.
Suppliers
At Eklectica there are no borders, it is our sense of duty to embrace what this great world has to offer, bringing to you a variety of unique hand made products, and offering our suppliers from third world countries a chance to prosper financially.
Most of our furniture is produced in Thailand, the land of smiles and the friendliest place on earth.
We have the pleasure to visit our suppliers as often as we can, most of them are small family businesses that quickly becomes our friends. It is a very pleasurable business for both parts, they are always paid well and we receive the best quality from them. From being personally involved we can guarantee good working conditions. There are NEVER children involved with the labour.
More than just a business, this is a great bonding between different people and cultures, where we all share and learn from each other.
We also work in a smaller scale with suppliers from countries as varied as Morocco, Portugal, Brazil, UK, India, and Indonesia. When we don't have the chance to personally meet our suppliers we make sure that we only trade with BAFTS accredited fair trade importers.
